If you’re planning a trip to the Smoky Mountains, there’s a good chance that you’ve already started to think about where you’ll have breakfast during your stay! If you’re not already thinking about a trip to the Smokies, you will be after reading about these 3 restaurants that you’ll want to visit for breakfast when you do come to town!

This Ain’t Your Grandma’s House…

Outside of Five Oaks Farm Kitchen in Sevierville

But it sure will feel like it is! The Five Oaks Farm Kitchen is next door to our Sevierville hotel and is one of the top restaurants in the Smoky Mountains! The property and the building are absolutely stunning but it is the delicious meals and charm of the staff that bring guests back time after time. The menu was created with our owner’s grandparents in mind and was made to bring back the meals that they had decades ago on the family farm. The Five Oaks Farm sat on our property 100 years ago and was the home of Dr. John W. Ogle and his wife Blanche Ogle. The 128 acres has a much different look now, but the charm and hospitality is still present throughout the property. When visiting the Five Oaks Farm Kitchen, you’ll understand just what we mean and you’ll have the opportunity to view photographs from the days on the farm. Farm life begins early and almost always with a big hearty breakfast! Breakfast in the kitchen kicks off at 7:30a.m and runs until noon, so both early risers and those that like to sleep in will get their chance to dine at their favorite time. Fill up on the Harvest Morning Bounty with all of the best southern breakfast foods that you can think of! Grits, scratch-made biscuits, pecan smoked bacon, local sausage patties and even rainbow trout are available to fill your stomach to the brim for the day! You’ll find mouthwatering omelets, breakfast casseroles, benedict and more… But, if you wake up with a sweet tooth, you’re going to want to try Grandma Blanche’s Thick “Ring Baked” Griddle Cakes! There’s nothing else like them in the Smokies and you’ll even find toppings like chocolate gravy and fresh strawberries among the list of items to cover them in. The best part about breakfast at the Five Oaks Farm Kitchen? If you really want to, you can roll out of your bed at The Lodge at Five Oaks and just take a short stroll across the parking lot in your PJ’s and eat until your happy then crawl right back into our comfy and luxurious beds!

When in Rome, or Better Yet, The Smokies…

Flapjack's Pancake Cabin in Gatlinburg

Everyone knows that when visiting the Smokies having pancakes at least one morning is a must! Next door to our sister hotel, The Appy Lodge, sits one of the best pancakes spots in the area. Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin also has something in common with the first two spots, family and memories. In 2000 the idea for Flapjack’s came to be because of a hike in the woods, a log cabin and childhood memories. Today, thousands of families make their own memories while sitting around the table enjoying pancakes, campfire skillets, Elkmont Egg Platters and more! You’ll find gluten free options, waffles and french toast as well as specials like the Breakfast Chimichanga on the menu. Located on the Gatlinburg side of the spur, Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin is the perfect stop as your heading into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for a day of hiking and wandering. While you’re there be sure to stop in and check out The Appy! Tell them we said hi and to treat you nice!

Is your mouth watering yet? It should be! All three restaurants definitely need to go on your list of places to try in the Smoky Mountains, but we do have one more bonus spot for you!
